Then you might be the person we are looking for in the role as Sports Director of the Swedish Volleyball Federation.

PerformIQ is now looking for a new co-worker for the Swedish Volleyball Federation, responsible for sports development in volleyball and beach volleyball. This includes the overall responsibility for managing and developing all national teams’ activities, to lead and support the head coaches in their daily and strategic work, and act as a contact with elite players in Sweden and abroad. Furthermore, communication with the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK) and the Swedish Sports Confederation (RF), regarding, for example, developing the sport of volleyball in Sweden. The duties as Sports Director also include the development of our National Training Center (RTC). At RTC in Falköping we have our national high school for volleyball and beach volleyball (RIG). Support and coordinate the coaches in their daily work regarding the development of our young players are essential parts of the position. RTC is crucial for Swedish volleyball’s high performance program and it requires excellent management and cooperation skills as well as profound volleyball expertise.

In the role as Sports Director of the Swedish Volleyball Federation you will for instance:
• Be responsible for the national teams and lead the national teams’ coaches and RTC/RIG coaches.
• Focus on high performance development
• Handle communication with volleyball players and volleyball clubs in Sweden as well as with the Swedish sports movement in general.

This position is for an individual who is able to collaborate and work effectively with all departments inside and outside the Volleyball Federation to achieve desired goals and results. This individual will be required to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as possess the ability to communicate professionally.
We are looking for someone with good leadership qualities and a strong feeling of responsibility. We think this person will show a great interest for sports in general, preferably with a passion for volleyball. Knowledge of sports in combination with strategical long-time planning and handling short-term issues is also required.

We need someone who can set up well-defined goals for activities and coaches, in order to give everyone involved the best possibility to succeed within their respective roles. Like – and excel in – leading and motivating others, we believe this is achieved by being strategic, communicative, engaged and structured. As the position involves sports development at RTC in Falköping, it requires work there for at least 5 days a month and more in periods.

Krav på person
The Sports Director is responsible for managing and developing activities with help from the coaches in relation to statutes and directives from the board. The Sports Director reports to the Director of Operations. It is of great importance to be accustomed to working independently as the position involves an extensive responsibility for completing tasks, as for example, producing activity plans in time with good quality.

We are looking for an individual with a higher education in leadership and/or communication who wants to work with people dedicated to sports, especially volleyball. We believe this individual has a well-documented experience of leading others and of easily motivating people to perform. Competence within national teams and/or national elite teams is highly meritorious.
Most importantly, though, is that the applicant wants to be a part of the growth and success of volleyball in Sweden and bring it to new levels – short term and long term.
In order to succeed in the position as Sports Director of the Swedish Volleyball Federation it also requires:

• Driver’s license
• Fluent speech in Swedish or English
• Flexible in regards to travelling

Language skills in, for instance, German, Italian or French are meritorious.
